A What Haunts Us X Mappa Mundi Investigation

The small swamp town of Barttham sits in the most remote region of a grand swamp that covers miles of the landscape into the horizon. Extremely remote, they only get visitors a handful of times each year. With a population slowly dwindling to dangerous levels, they are thrown into grief when three of their own have become missing somewhere in the wilderness of the swamp. Just before this, reports of a new creature coming into the swamp has started a lot of rumours. What kind of creature is it? And importantly, how dangerous is it? Fear is setting in, anger is taking over, it won’t be long until the town’s grief is turned into fury and reaches dangerous heights.

Fearing this new creature, the mayor of the town Freya King has got in contact with the Mappa Mundi Institute, asking for help in discovering and de-mystifying this new creature. As Chroniclers, you have been tasked with uncovering the secrets of this new creature in the swamp, with the goal to calm the townsfolk of Barttham and try to bring them back to their grieving process.

The Barttham Beast is a crossover between What Haunts Us and Mappa Mundi by Three Sails Studios. It uses the What Haunts Us system and takes inspiration from the amazing world and mechanics of Mappa Mundi. This investigation contains themes of Death, murder, and grief.
